Platinum Pack: includes Full cleaning, badgering, and non-toxic protective finish witha 6 month re-cleaning service. If your rug gets dirty, spotted or you just want to freshen it up, we will do it no-charge within 6 months.

Luv-A-Rug cleans all fiber types, sizes and values of area rugs. No rug is too small. For heavy rugs or multiple rugs we offer *Free pick up and delivery* to most communities on the lower Vancouver Island. Courier pick up and delivery is available for most of Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Saltspring Island.
We custom match your rug to the safest and most effective cleaning process and clean it individually. Luv-A-Rug is certified Wool Safe which means we are fully trained to expertly care for your fine wool and natural fiber area rugs. We NEVER clean your rug in a tub with other rugs and cause colour bleed to your rugs or become contaminated with dirty water. We use fresh water for every rug. Our area rug cleaning goes deeper than average cleaners.

When you bring your area rugs to us please come in first and get us to bring in the rugs from your car. We will also carry the clean rugs out to your car as well when you come to take them back home.

Stephen (Dusty) Roberts-owner/operator- travels the world for the rug industry and speaks at many industry events and conventions.
He is one of the most qualified cleaners in Canada, and has been certified by the Oriental rug cleaning company in Dallas Texas as a MASTER RUG CLEANER. He has also completed the rug cleaning program with the National Institute of Rug Cleaners(NIRC) and the International Institute of Carpet and Restorations Cleaners (IICRC).
With all the years of training Dusty knows how your rug is woven, the safest cleaning for your rugs and the history of where your rug was made.
He started Lug-A-Rug in 1986 and had Luggie greeting Victorians for years. In 2004 the name was changed from Lug-A-Rug to Luv-A-Rug to better reflect our passion for area rugs and Luggie retired but has never been forgotten.
Dusty knows a lot of knowledgeable and influential people in the rug world, Barry O'Connell is one such person. Barry has turned his passion for area rugs into an obsession. He has written hundreds of webpages about every kind of area rug made. Check out one of his websites to learn the history of Persian rugs. He can tell you where a rug was made based on the colours of the dye used. It is amazing the depth of his knowledge. The Secret Area Rug Cleaning Tip
Vacuuming is your area rug's best friend when done correctly.
To remove the maximum amount of dirt from your area rug turn your rug upside down and vacuum the back of the area rug first, this vibrates the loose dirt and debris to the top of the fibers. Using a rotating/ beater bar type of vacuum cleaner works the best.
For Wool area rugs it is best to use suction only to vacuum the topside of your area rug. A rotating brush/beater bar vacuum can remove the finer fibers and make your area rug fibers wear away faster.
For Synthetic rugs it is okay to use a rotating brush/beater bar on the top and back side of the area rug. The fibers of a Synthetic rug don't shed like a wool rug.
To vacuum the fringes either use suction only or vacuum side to side across the area rug instead of lengthwise. The fringes are less likely to get sucked into the vacuum.
Vacuuming your area rugs once a week and doing a front and back vacuuming at least once a month extends the life of your area rug.
