Warm Rugs For Cold Homes

How did Luv-A-Rug's Warm Rugs For Cold Homes Charity Start?

In early 2017, I received a phone call with a desperate plea for help. The voice on the other said, “Dusty, a Syrian refugee family with 6 children desperately need rugs to cover the cold concrete floor of the basement suite they are living in - can you help?” Of course I didn’t have to think twice about it - I had several rugs in my shop I was more than happy to give away.

That was when the idea of struck me to set up an annual charity event where I would collect all unwanted area rugs from all over Vancouver Island and clean them for free so charities can use them to sell and raise much needed funds.

We are now into the 4th year of our “Warm Rugs For Cold Homes” event and have set a goal of collecting 200 area rugs. So if you have an area rug you no longer want - please bring it to us here at Luv-A-Rug so we can give your rug a 2nd life in a home of another loving family. And for each rug you donate, we will give you up to $50 credit towards the cleaning of an area rug you have in your home!
