École Margaret Jenkins School & Luv-A-Rug: Where Rugs Find Their True Calling

Nestled in the heart of Victoria’s historic Fairfield district, École Margaret Jenkins School has been a cornerstone of education since 1913.

Originally a modest two-room schoolhouse, it has grown into a vibrant dual-track English and French Immersion elementary school with a rich and colorful history.

If the walls could talk, they’d share tales of generations of students, passionate teachers, and, of course, hardworking rugs.

Life as a Rug at École Margaret Jenkins School

If you think being a classroom rug is easy, think again. These rugs, ever silent yet oddly expressive, have endured more than their fair share of adventures.

At École Margaret Jenkins School, they witness the triumphs of circle time, the creativity of art projects, and the chaos of snack breaks gone awry.

By week one, they’ve seen enough glitter to rival a craft store explosion and have bravely hosted crumbs from snacks that may or may not have been approved by parents.

By the end of the school year, these rugs are less “plush sanctuary” and more “heavily seasoned veteran.” They’ve survived glitter battles, juice box tsunamis, and the occasional gym shoe fiasco.

And yet, they remain steadfast, providing a soft spot for learning and daydreaming. But even the most resilient rugs need a little help to stay in the game.

Enter Luv-A-Rug: The Rug Whisperers

At Luv-A-Rug, we specialize in restoring dignity (and fluffiness) to classroom rugs. Our free cleaning program for K-3 classrooms is our way of giving back to schools like École Margaret Jenkins School.

It’s a love letter to the educators who juggle teaching, glitter clean-up, and occasional refereeing with remarkable grace.

When a rug from École Margaret Jenkins School arrives at our facility, we can practically hear it breathe a sigh of relief.

The crumbs, the glue spots, and the unidentifiable sticky patches? Gone. We clean, fluff, and refresh these rugs with the kind of care usually reserved for spa treatments.

By the time we’re done, the rugs aren’t just clean—they’re rejuvenated.

The Rug Renaissance

The journey from “battle-worn” to “fresh and fabulous” is a transformative one. First, we shake out every last crumb, stray bead, and abandoned googly eye.

Then comes a deep-clean treatment so effective it makes even the most stubborn stains throw in the towel. Finally, the rugs are dried, fluffed, and sent back into the world ready to face another year of glitter and giggles.

When these rugs return to École Margaret Jenkins School, they’re more than clean; they’re revitalized.

Their fibers are reinvigorated, their colors brighter, and their readiness for the classroom chaos unmatched.
